Genesis 41:1

The build-up is beautiful. Joseph interprets two dreams accurately. And it forgotten about. Pharaoh has a dream and we all know what happens next. The best day of Joseph's life. But 1) Joseph's favor wasn't for his benefit! It was to preserve the seed of Israel, which directly impacts our salvation today! And 2) the time that passed between Joseph being forgotten about and being used to interpret Pharaoh's dream must have been hell. He never knew if he was ever going to get out of prison. He didn't know if God even remembered him. For all he knew, he was destined to live out his days in great agony, useless and obsolete.

We should identify with Joseph. We often feel insignificant and useless. We often feel that God has his hand on people who are far more "important" than we are. But we must rnot lose heart in the season of waiting - sometimes a very long season. We must remember that it's not about us and our misery. If we stay Christ-focused, living for his glory, we too shall know the joy (and gravity) of our gifts being tapped by God.
