When you are power hungry like these scribes and the cheif priest were you are threatened, and your heart becomes hard. Time and time again in Scripture we read about these men plotting and planning against the man that they were suppose to be the spokesman for. Because Jesus didn't appear to them the way they thought he would he became a threat to there job security and power. Don't be a jealous person. It only hardens your heart, and leads you down a path to destruction.
