Romans 12:1-21

What does this passage say?
We are to offer our bodies to God as an act of worship. We are to put off our "old self" by renewing our mind in Christ. We have to stop doing what we have been doing and we have to quit living in our routine pattern of life. In Christ our patterns should be different - it should change. Do not be conceited and think more about yourself then what is actually there. We are to think of ourselves in a realistic prospective - seeing ourselves for who we are - for who God truly knows us to be. Not who we want to be or thing that we are or think that we should be.

We all have different talents and strengths - not all of us groove to the same beat. We all have special gifts that allow us to play to each others strengths and weaknesses. When I play to my strengths - it plays directly to anthers weaknesses and vice versa. You bring together strengths and weaknesses and you create one unstoppable force.

We are called to love one another - not just say that we love each other, but be devoted to one another. Not just saying that we are going to pray for each other - but literally pray for one another. Honor each other and be faithful to one another.

We are called to share with another - not just possessions, but carrying the burdens and needs of others. Be hospitable to each other - reaching out to those who appreciate what you do and those that are against what you do.

We are called to at peace and harmony with each other. Again, not being proud or conceited of who we associate with. No matter what their economic situation or education - we are called to associate with them. Do not live your life trying to repay what others have done against you. Regardless of what they say or do - we are called to rise above the circumstances.

v. 20 “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

If you allow evil and sin to set into your life - then that is what you will become!!
