The scripture said it was not yet the season for figs. The tree should not have had leaves. Leaves on the tree gave the appearance there were figs. The tree had the outward form, the leaves, but no fruit, the figs. Jesus was displeased the tree appeared to have figs but did not.
Are we an outward form of a believer in Christ but have no fruit in our lives? Are we what we appear to be? Does our profession of faith match the fruit we have? Does what we talk match our walk?
