I find it fascinating that Luke takes the time to reveal the genealogy of Joseph - a man that was not Jesus' actual father. But Luke gives us a glimpse into his motive for doing this in verse 23: "Jesus...being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph..." And I especially love how this ends: "...the son of God."
