This verse is SO important in today's age where atheists are all about looking to start arguments. We are not here to argue with people about the existence of God. God doesn't need us defending Him.
We are here to share the love and hope He has given us. It says be ready to give an answer, because the Holy Spirit gives us opportunities to tell people about Him. We shouldn't be forcing opportunities. Have faith, God will provide opportunities. Yelling at people and arguing childishly is not how we should compose ourselves as God's children.
