Heros and Heroines: not so much.
What is man to do about the parts of Scripture that reveal the terror of God: Pharoah's hardened heart, Esther's mansluaghter, and the death of Ananias & Sapphira in the book of Acts. We have some certain explanations but for the most part we are struck by the sovereignty of God as he chooses as he chooses. We can, in the least, understand that there is much we are hidden from in the character of God. We can understand that God has a problem with sinful man and seeks to redeem it through the blood of his son, Jesus Christ. But, we must face the facts that Scripture is not all about heros and heroines. Scripture upholds a terrifying characteristic of God.
