1 Timothy 2:9-10 ASV

I am the type of person that is inspired by music. I love music so much, and I love that there is cool Christian music that you can listen to and it's not all for an older generation. I, being a teenager, would rather listen to rock than old hymns, so I'm so glad that there's Christian Rock that I can worship to.

One of the songs that really grabbed my attention is called "Voice of Truth" by Casting Crowns. It talks about how there are so many voices calling out your name in this world (i.e. popularity, clothes, money), but we must listen to the Voice of Truth (Jesus) to make it.

Listening to this song, I see how important it is not to just follow the world's trends, being caught up in trying to make yourself beautiful, more popular, or richer. The song's chorus goes as follows:
"But the voice of truth tells me a different story
the voice of truth says 'do not be afraid!'
and the voice of truth says 'this is for my glory'
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth"

There is a verse I wanted to add to this. It's 1 Timothy 2:9. Take a look:
"And I want women to get in there with the men in humility before God, not primping before a mirror or chasing the latest fashions, but doing something beautiful for God and becoming beautiful doing it."

If you really wanted to become beautiful and nice and kind, someone that you would want to hang out with, then follow God. He's the best role model. He's the only one who can wash away your sins and make you clean and pure and holy. And he wants you.
So will you keep chasing the fashions of this world, or will you give it up and follow God?
