Bizarro is a fictional supervillain that appears in comic books published by DC Comics. Bizarro had powers that were the reverse of Superman: such as freeze vision (as opposed to heat vision) and flame breath (as opposed to frost breath). Because of this the term Bizarro has become well known in popular culture and is used to describe anything that is the opposite of something else.

The Apostle Paul wrote to the people of Corinth to not associate with immoral people. By this he meant people that were covetous, idolaters, drunkards and swindlers. Bizarro Christians have taken this to mean that we should not associate with the world but instead we should only associate with fellow believers. Is this what Paul was saying? Bizarro Christians say "Yes." But Paul tells us exactly what he meant in verse 10 and 11. The immoral people that Paul told us to not associate with are not people of the world but brothers and sisters in the faith that are covetous, idolaters, drunkards and swindlers.

Let us not became Bizarro Christians and do the opposite of what Paul was telling us to do. Let us become the body of Christ and shine the light of God's love, mercy and forgiveness to this world. Let us not judge the outsiders for this is reserved for God, as verse 13 tells us. Let us stop doing the opposite of what God tells us to do. Let us stop being Bizarro Christians.
