I find it interesting how different David's version of God's message to him is here in these verses compared to those back in 1 Chron. 17. When we hear the first report of this message from God to David, it says nothing about Solomon being the son that God would raised up to build His temple. In fact, if we take this version in chapter 22 to be what God really said then we could conclude that God is a liar because of verse 10b, "And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever." But we know not too many kings after Solomon his kingdom is taken away from his line in Israel and in Judea eventually the Babylonians take over and strip Judea of it's king from Solomon's line. BUT if we take the original message from God to be true we see that 1 Chron. 22:10 can be true if it is in reference to Jesus and not Solomon. Does that mean that God wasn't referring to Solomon at all? I don't think so, I think God did have Solomon in mind to build the temple in Jerusalem and also to be like a son, but I also believe God had Jesus in mind as the person who would "establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever".

And yet, the place of that throne and that temple were not to be found in Jerusalem but upon the throne of our hearts in the temple of our bodies when we received Christ into our lives! In all, Jesus is woven throughout the whole of God's Word if we just take the time to look for it!
