Anger makes us do some pretty irrational things. When we get angry what we want is justice. We forget there is a point of view outside of our own. We become consumed with the person or thing we feel has invoked our wrath. Anger at injustice in and of itself is not a sin. Jesus got angry. How we decide to deal with the things that anger us is where we run into trouble. In Matthew 23 Jesus spoke to the Pharisees and teachers of the law. He calls them blind guides, fools, and vipers. We can easily see that Jesus was righteously angry; he was not just flinging insults to comfort his ego. Unfortunately, not all anger is righteous. God gives us some guidelines to help us deal with anger. God wants us to reconcile not only with those we are angry at but with anyone we know is angry at us.
