My diamond mine
Philippians 2:12b
"work out your salvation with fear and trembling"
Many people wrongly interpret the latter part of this verse to be contradictory to eternal security and salvation by faith alone suggesting that an effort on our part is necessary to aqcuire eternal life, but considered in the light of other scriptures Paul seems to be suggesting that one should be working it with much anxiousness and fear... I once had this verse explained to me like this... Consider your salvation a diamond incased in a diamond mine which YOU own (key part you OWN), you own it! even though you're not enjoying it at its fullest, it is still nonetheless your diamond and the mining of it will make it a more fullfilling moment when it is complete, or in other words you have pursued living a Christ centered life and being made more and more holy throughout your life until you are glorified in the presence of Christ.
