I am so sick of hearing people say, "I need to be fed spiritually". It's such an immature phrase...such a misunderstanding of Scripture. Normally when people say that they mean that they want to have in-depth Bible study and really "dig into" the Scripture. There is nothing wrong that...but this verse makes it clear...it's not those that KNOW Scripture that are mature in Christ...it's those that SHOW Scripture that are mature in Christ. It's not about how many Bible studies you're involved in that matters to God...it's about how many lives your involved in that matters to God. True discipleship has NOTHING to do with the amount of Bible knowledge you receive...true discipleship has everything to do with how much Bible knowledge you put into practice by being a servant to Christ. In essence...true Biblical discipleship is not about how much you gain...but how much you give.
