Daily Sacrifice
The Cost and Importance of Daily Worship.
Scripture - Numbers 28:1-3
Observation:
From the beginning the secret of Israels blessings was when they had a good relationship with God.
Reading through Numbers 28 makes me wonder how long something like this took. I'm no butcher so I have no idea how long it takes to offer 2 one year old lambs a day. I can only imagine that this takes some time. There must be more to this than mere ritual.
The offerings which were brought regularly and administered under the priests supervision and according to prescribed rituals took time which I believe gave the people the necessary opportunity to prepare their hearts to worship.
Application:
Worship can be meaningless unless we have taken the time to prepare our hearts to worship. Sometimes we just end up going through the motions. Our worship should rise up to God like sweet smelling smoke/incense that He smells and is pleased with. Have you ever tried to worship on Sunday morning after you and your wife were fighting in the car on the way to church?? Not so easy right ?
It's too easy to go to service with hearts that are not prepared to worship.
In numbers 28 God gives the Israelite's many different offerings each having a different purpose; however, the ultimate goal was to please the Lord and delight His heart.
It was a daily sacrifice then and it's the same today, our relationship with God will not just happen, it's something we have to work at and it's a daily sacrifice that will take time but it will be so rewarding.

Lord help me worship You in a way that pleases You.
