  • TOUCHES " LEPERS ".

    A man with leprosy came to (Jesus) and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean."

    Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man...Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.
    splagchnizomai (splangkh-nid'-zom-ahee); to have the bowels yearn, deep and tender mercy, to be moved to " action ".

    • BEFRIENDS " PROSTITUTES ".

      While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" came and ate with him and his disciples.
      When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick...For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
      • OFFENDS " PHARISEES ".
        On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years…Then (Jesus) put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
        Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler said to the people, "There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath."
