1 Corinthians 12:14-31 ASV

It's easy to think that the visual parts of the body are the most important- the ones on platforms, the ones in leadership roles, the ones always seen. But man, the most important organs in our natural body are unseen- our heart, our lungs, our brain. There are some many parts that make the whole thing work. It's also easy tot hink that the lowly parts are just that- lowly. But man, have you ever stubbed a toe? Yowsers. It hurts. It throws your whole body off balance. You hobble around, walk crooked, limp. And why? All because of that little bitty baby toe. It has one less joint than the other guys for crying out loud! And that's one sorry excuse for a toenail on there! And yet, as insignificant as it may seem, it adds to the balance of the entire body. And the body feels it when it's in pain. Each part is significant. There are no lowly parts. We are many parts but we all make up the body. I love this. I think back to when Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was. His reply was awesome- He couldn't name one without mentioning another because they go hand in hand. Love God, love each other. You can't really do the first one without doing the second one, too. It's almost like He was saying- "One command? No can do, boys. There's the obvious one to love God more than anything. BUt in doing that you end up doing this opther one that I just HAVE to mention- love each other." You can't just have a head and experience wholeness. In order to be a body- you need all the other parts, too- us. Each part has a purpose. That's awesome!
