Circumcission is not just an outward thing but also a spiritual inward thing too. These verses cement that in. The Jews were so into following tradition and rules set up by man they lost the whole purpose, the reason, the love in circumcision. God gave us circumcision. Man didn't make it but we claim right to it and use it for man's purpose in oposition of God's purpose. The circumcision of the heart is more important then the circumcision of the body. We must not forget. It is used to show our heart for God and his purpose not just a sign to man. Fufillment of the Law was it's purpose which shouldn't just be acts but should be done with Lord for God and what he calls us to do.
