How often do we honestly say to God "My soul THIRSTS for you.... I crave you like a thirsty man in a desert craves water." ??? He is the water of life that the psalmist craves. There are so many distractions that get in the way. So many forms of entertainment that we try to soothe ourselves with, when what we really need is more of God in our lives.

Escapism is commonly sought in television, video games, sports, social networking websites & (just to name a few). These things are not bad in & of themselves, but it is easy to let them get in the way of our spending time with God. Imagine how much deeper your faith could be - how much closer to God you could be if only you spend less time engaged in escapism & seek God earnestly instead. His love is better than life (vs3) - better than anything this world has to offer.
