Luke 5:33-34 ASV and Luke 5:36 ASV

The Pharisees thought anyone who was a religious leader should be quiet, reverent and not fraternize with the ill repute. This is something I have had a hard time with for a long time. I continually go back to Jesus talking to the pharisees about the adultress woman telling them "ye who have not sinned cast the first stone" Jesus said only God has the right to judge. In this passage Jesus is trying to make them realize, we can go to parties and enjoy the company of others as long as we keep watch over ourselves. And we don't have to be party poopers either. We don't have to walk around telling everyone, oh I can't have a good time because I am a christian. We can make friends we can enjoy company and by doing this at the right time we can change lives. We ask God to put people in our lives that we can help but we can't change their life if we don't accept them where they are and bring them to ourselves. The warning here is we accept them where they are and bring them to ourselves we don't need to enter into what they are doing. We can go to parties and enjoy ourselves without getting drunk on the wine. What good would it do to get drunk, non and it would harm our ability to witness, but if we go and make friends and people see us as just a really great person who has control of their life then they would be more willing to come to us when they realize their life needs help
