I was looking at 2 Timothy 1:12 and thinking about how many times that I heard him quote this verse. Dad always believed that God was able to protect him through Christ until the day that he would stand before him. He knew that the blood of Jesus would cover him in the last day and that as he walked through this life he didn't need to be hung up on his failings because it was only by the grace of the one who saved him that mattered anyway. "not by works lest anyone boast."
