"HOW 2 DEFEND AGAINST SATAN" "THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD"
Last Weeks Scriptures: How Did Satan Attack The Minds Of These People
1. Acts 14:2- the spirit of doubt
2. 2 Corinthians 4:4- the spirit of materialism & self ( the allure of money, power, and pleasure blinds people of the light of Christ's gospel!!!)
3. 2 Corinthians 11:3- the spirit of false teaching, ( it is easy to lose focus of Christ by having overcrowding in your life of too many distractions) Paul was worried that the peopl'e focus was being sidetracked by these false teachers!!!
This Weeks Scripture: Ephesians 6: 13-17

First Off: THIS IS NOT TEMPORARY ARMOR THAT WE MUST WEAR!!! THIS IS TO BE OUR LIFE_LONG ATTIRE!!!
Also, the armour is a uniform!! Think about it? What authority over Satan do we have if we have not on our Uniform??
Ex. Do we not tense up and surrender to a man/woman in blue or one of our soldiers???
Question?? How do we prepare or and defend against spiratual attacks???
1. We got to know whose armour are we putting on?? Who's armour is it???
2. What is the Armour of God???
(Explain!!!!)---We as Christians are to walk in the spirit, pray in the spirit, talk in the spirit, see in the spirit
1.Ephesians 6:14- " Stand therefore, having girded your waist with the belt of truth"
What is the belt of truth??
It was what held up all the weapons on the belt.. It held the swords, knives, and such...
1. The belt of truth is the foundation to the armour!! The Belt of truth is knowing and having accepted Jesus Christ in your life... Jesus is the truth- ( John14:6) " I AM the way, the truth, the life.. No One comes to the Father except through Me!!"
2. God's Word is the truth!! This is wahat sets us apart and makes us Holy... We cannot consistantly win battle.. unless we know the Word of God...
***See, Satan is a liar and he will try anything to get you to believe that:***
1. you are not worthy, that you are not important to God, that people are talking about you, that you have no purpose, that you have no worth!!! HE IS A LIAR!!!
PROTECT YOURSELF BY KNOWING THE TRUTH!! And living the Truth!!
***Note**** 1. Even though we have the truth in us, we must live a life of honesty and integrity..
2. We must know Jesus personally, in order to hear the belt of Truth..
3. Iff we don't consistantly tell the truth, or if we live a life of hypocrisy, then we are not wearing the belt..
4. We cannot tell no white lies, no matter how good they make us look, or how good they might makes us
feel!!
5. Lies lead to a life of bondage- and the only way to defeat this attack is by knowing the Truth- ( John 8:32) "And by knowing the truth, the truth will set you free!!!"
How do you know if you are wearing the belt????
1. Do consistantly speak the truth?
2. Do you give in to temptations to tell "little white lies" or to avoid the truth?
3. Are your public and private lives consistant with each other?
4. Do you strive to be the same person internally ( in which no one else sees) as you are externally ( when others are watching)?
5. Are you currently covering up lies?
6. Do you ever rationalize your wrong, even when you know God is displeased?
7. Do you ever lie to convince yourself that your particular sins are acceptable??
2.Ephesians6:14- " having put on the breastplate of Righteousness"
This piece covers up the upper torso, mainly protecting your vital organs...
This piece protects from the enemies darts and spears and such....
1. We must live a life of Righteousness by allowing the work of God in our lives to be the evidence in our daily living!!!
Example: people must see the drastic change that has been appointed to you... people must see that we are not like this world...
2. Important piece!!!- WE DO NOT EARN GOD'S FAVOR BY OUR GOOD WORKS, BUT OUR WORKS DO CONFIRM THAT GOD IS WORKING IN OUR LIVES...
******Basically the one wearing the Breast Plate of Righteousness will do what is right aaccording to God's standards!! Not ours, but His!!!
Here are 3 commands that Paul gives us to live Righteously...
1. Ephesians 4:25- " Put off falsehood and speak truthfully"" Those of you lieing, must stop lieing!!
2. Ephesians 4:28- " Those who steal, must stop stealing"
3. Ephesians 4:29- " Do not let unwholesome speech come out your mouth" Example- cursing, lustful talk, dirty jokes, critisizing of others, back-biting...
3. Shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace"
1.We must first have on the right shoes, if we are to battle correctly!!!
2. We must stand firm on the Word, on the Truth, Our Foundation!!
3. Check out how many times Paul tells us to stand!! (Read 6:11-6:13, 6:14) This is a very important part of our battle...
******** Stand means to hold position*******
"with the gospel of peace"
The gospel itself tells a stort of peace, as unbeleivers were dead in sin, we had no peace, until Christ delivered us...
Stand firm that you are a child of God, and that you are covered in The Blood of the Lamb!!!!
NOTE*** We should be ready to stand at all times against the wiles of the devil ( his schemes, tricks, and lies) and continue sharing the good news gospel at all times no matter what!!!!
4. " ABOVE ALL" taking up the shield of faith"
How important is faith??????
The first two words in verse Ephesians 6: 16 shows and proves how important!!
Reasons why the Shield of Faith is important...
1. When the battle gets heated, when it gets intense.. this piece of armour is important because it protects us from the fiery darts ( in which are the lies, back-biting, the curses, the bad seeds, etc...
2. When the battlerequires endurance... Remember Paul telling us to stand 4 times...... He was telling us to defend, not attack, he was saying resist not retaliate!!!
********This takes obvious amounts of endurance......
???Why is Faith so important in long-term battles????
Standing requires the attitude of Faith!!!
1. Know that God has the power to command Satan to never so much as to touch you or kill you... Remember (Job)
Hebrews 11:6 " without Faith, it is impossible to please God"
****Note***-- God is pleased and will grant His power to those that.....
1. reject every voice of circumstance
2. disobey every message of compromise
3. and the one that swims against the stream of discouragement in order to trust Him.. will be granted His power!!!
2. Look, we must have faith and know that Satan is not omniscient ( he do not know all things, he does not have universal knowledge... so he is limited to what he knows..
3. we give satan his power when we lose our faith that God's got us...
5. " the helmet of salvation.."
* We must have a high level of hope!!***
1. To wear the helmet of Salvation is to believe that God guides us today and will ultimately take us to heaven...
2. Genuine hope keeps us moving forward, never giving up, and running the race with faith.. It keeps us fighting the good fight!!!
****Note*****See, in 2 Timothy 4:7) Paul had hope that he had a crown awaiting him in heaven because he ran a good race...
THE HELMET PROTECTS THE MIND!!!!
6. " The Sword of the Spirit"
The Word of God is the sword of the spirit...The more we read, hear, study, apply, memorize, and meditate the Word of God, the more we can overcome the enemy....
It is both a defensive and offensive weapon....
Heres defensively-
1. With the Word, we resist the devil, much as Jesus did in the wilderness when He defeated the temptations of the devil...
2. Then we strike deadly blows when we know the truth, believe in the Word, and claim the truth's of God's Word...
Heres offensively-
1. We offensively enter satans domain when we proclaim forgiveness and freedom to those held in darkness...
2. When we evangelize or drop good seed into people's lives.. We have God's promise that..." it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it" ( Isaiah 55:11)
Her are some wayz to use the Word ( the sword) in spiratual battles:
1. Study the Bible ( so we can correctly handle the Word of Truth)
2. We must know and live the Word, if we recite scripture while living unHoly, it does nothing to weaken Satan's holds in ur lives..
3. We can tell the good news found in the Word, offering hope to persons held in bondage...
4. memorize scripture-- it helps to guard against sin...
5. We can teach the Word to others so that they to, will know how to use the sword of the Spirit...

1. Religious type living is pointless... If you talk it, but dont walk it.. then what good is your testimony...
2. Satan isnt threatened if we are not showing the works of God in us...
3. If our hearts arent right with God, it is dangerous to attempt spiritual warfare...
