It would be awesome if power didn't have to be perfected in weakness. If we could grow stronger without facing any opposition. But that's like saying you can build muscles without any resistance training (says the girl who never works out). To build muscle, you gotta keep adding weight to the bar, little by little. And at first, it seems like an impossibility to lift. But by going through resistance, you build up your strength. When we face trial, it is impossible for us. We are made (painfully) aware of our weaknesses and come face to face witht he reality that I NEED God in my life. But He's equipped me. He's given me a grace ot go through the tough stuff. And gradually, I start building muscle. We can't do this without Him, so instead of bragging about ow much we can lift- why not brag about how much we can't- without Him. When He steps in, I find myself lifting more than I could've before. So when faced with that impossible weight limit- relax, Jesus is your spotter. You can do this.On a sidenote, if you knew me, you'd know how utterly ridiculous it is that THIS was what popped in my head while reading this. I never darken the doors of a gym. :o)
