Jesus said that "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
- Do I live off the Word of God. Do I follow it and obey it? Is it the main thing I need to get through my day?

* reference - Deut 8:3The Greek word translated "tempted" (peirazo) means "to test" in either a good or bad sense. Here God's objective was to demonstrate the character
of His Son by exposing Him to Satan's tests (cf. 2 Sam. 24:1; Job 1:6—
2:7).Satan urged Jesus to use His Sonship in a way
that was inconsistent with His mission. He used the spiritual resources that are available to all people,

including us, the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit (v. 1). It is for this reason that He is an example for us of one who successfully
endured temptation, and it is this victory that qualified Him to become our high priest (Heb. 2:10; 3:1-2).

Everyone needs to recognize and acknowledge his or her total dependence on God and His Word. Jesus' real food, what sustained Him above all else, was His commitment to do the will of His Father (John 4:34).
