rip out the insulation
The church has become so insulated. Instead of seeking and saving the lost, we've avoided them and set the bar impossibly high for them. Many turn off unbelievers with their christianese talk and with the facade of christianity. Here we have a guy that followed Jesus immediately upon being asked. And then he immediately infuses Jesus unto the other areas of his life. Most churchgoers, sadly, compartmentalize their walk with Christ so it doesn't touch the other areas of their lives. They continue iin sin and then put on a church face when Sunday rolls around. This is not a genuine follower of Jesus. A genuine follower would be like Levi here. He invites Jesus into the other areas of his life- even the ones that have identified him as a sinner in times past. When we don't allow Jesus into every area we are not truly following. We haven't left everything behind, we're holding onto sin that we'd rather him not mess with. Time to rip out that insulation- give Jesus all access to every part of us and let Him be in every part of our lives. That way, when we are around unbelievers, we can impact them with the authenticity of our walk with Christ instead of morphing into someone else when we walk into church. We weren't saved to sit in church. We were saved that we might GO and make disciples.
