My heart just agrees with the reverance that Elizabeth and Zechariah are walking out with God through all this. I'm not sure how exactly how things were culturally when it came to naming children, but we do see that it's tradition to pass down the father's name. Now, being a man this is tough! I wanna have a boy that looks like his daddy and holds some portion of his daddys name! But to see how Zechariah responds, "His name is John". There's no question, he has heard from the Lord and must obey. We must obey and submit to the all-encompassing, life-infultrating nature of Christ in the life of the believer!
