The Mystery
The 'Mystery' was not known to man in ages past, but it did exist. God, in His wisdom, allowed non-Jews to become followers of His through Christ in His own timing. It wasn't a matter of Him deciding to allow us to be His children because of His anger with the Jews, but He always intended to graft us in.
