no sloppy seconds
I've always heard this described as an alignment sort of thing... when we live in unity and are truly submitted to each other, we can experience blessing. The cool part is-and this is what I've heard, I need to investigate!- that the dew of Hermon is thicker the closer to the bottom of the mountain you get. We often think certain blessings are reserved for the folks in charge. The pastors and teachers get this great annointing and the rest of us get sloppy seconds or not-quite-as-much. But theses verses allude to humility- living in unity which can only happen when we are yielded to one another and submitted to godly authority. By doing so, we hardly get sloppy seconds, it's thicker down here! There's more the closer you get to the bottom. Stay in your spot and enjoy the overflow!
