WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!! GO 2 HELL!!!
WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!!
MARCH 29, 2009
"I NEVER KNEW YOU"
" Go 2 Hell"
***OPENER***
*** NOTE*** This is the closing of the only time throughout the Bible that Jesus is actually preaching... All the other times He is Teaching!!! (Matthew 5-7)
(*** Matthew 7: 21-23***)
*** Matthew 7:21*** - King James Version- Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father...
*** Matthew 7:21***- The Message- knowing the correct password- saying Master, Master, for instance- isnt going to get you anywhere with me... What is required is serious obedience- doing my Father's Will...
*** This scripture relates back to Hosea 8:2 in which Isreal is crying out to God screaming: God, we know you!!!
***Breakdown: Israel had involved themselves with foreign people, and had picked up their evil ways. When we spend a lot of time with people, we can easily pick up their attitudes and begin to imitate their actions. When we work, live, or play with unbelievers, beware of the influences they may have on you. Instead of drifting into bad habits, try and have an positive influence on them...
*** Note- The saying Lord. Lord, is normally used in high emotion or emphasis... Even an confession without action means nothing...
***Jesus Preaching***
*** Jesus is saying, look here, you have a good talk game, but wheres your walk too match it...
*** Jesus is exposing those that sound religious, but have no personal relationship with Him.
*** Note: Many people think that if they are good people, and say religious things, then they will be rewarded with external life... " WRONG" F
( Believers Commentary)- 1. Jesus is exposing and warning those who falsely profess to acknowledge Him as Savior, but have never been converted... " you will be amazed at the people that you think are saved, that act like they are, but are not...( Ask'em if they are saved)
1. What is the Will of the Father?
A. The first step is to acknowledge and believe on the Lord Jesus: ( John 6:29)
***AMPLIFIED BIBLE- ( John 6:29) Jesus replied, This is the work,( service) that God asks of you: that you believe in the One whom He has sent you { that you cleave to, trust, rely on and have Faith in His Messenger}... " We must believe in Jesus and know that He is our Savior"
1. Many sincere seekers for God are puzzled about what He wants them to do... Jesus simply replies.." That we must rely on Him, the One God has sent" That is the Will of the Father!!!
***Note- Satisfying God does not come from the work we do, but from the One we believe in...
*** A Good example of knowing and believing Christ...
*** 1 Thessalonians 1:3... This is where Paul commended the Thessalonians for standing firm on Christ when they were persecuted..
*** They showed 3 great characteristics:
1. their worked produced by faith
2. labor prompted by love
3. and endurance inspired by hope
***1 John 3:23*** " His Commandment"
***New King James- And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us Commandment...
*** Note- In the Bible a name represents one's Character, or what he/ she really is...
*** Note- We are note to only believe in Jesus' Words, but that He really is the Son of God... To believe " on the name" means to pattern your life after Christ's to become more like Him by uniiting yourself with Him...
*** Matthew 7:22- King James Version- Many will say to me on that day: Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in your name, and in thy namedone many wonderful works?
*** Matthew 7:22- Message Bible- Jesus talking- " I can see it now-at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me saying: Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God Sponsored projects had everyone talking...
**** Another Bible calls them pretenders of the gospel
***Example of what Jesus is talking about***
*** Acts 19:13-15***
- Then some of the itinerant { traveling preachers} Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over- those whom had evil spirits, saying " We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches..."
***Matthew 7:23*** King James Version- And then I will profess unto them, I never knew yo: depart form me, ye that work iniquity.
*** Contemporary English Version- " But I will tell them" I will have nothing to do with you! Get out of my sight, you evil people.
*** Holman Christian Bible- "I never knew you!! Depart from me you Lawbreakers!"
*** New Living Translation- " I never knew you, Get away from me, you who breaks God's Laws..
***The Message- You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make yourselves look important. " You dont impress me one bit.. Your outta
here!!!
*** King James Commentary- is saying that this scripture is about those or is warning those who are continually living in sin; as the normal course of their lives and they who do this have no assurance of salvation...
***Believers Commentary- States that not all miracles are of God. Satan can empower people to cast out demons temporarily, in order to create an illusion that the miracle is divine 9 that of God). Satan is basically plotting an even worse invasion of demons in the future...
What does Jesus mean when He says I never knew you???
1. The word knew in Greek is ( gin-o-sko)
*** It means absolutely, allow, be aware of, feel, to have knowledge of, to perceive { to attain awareness of- REALIZE
*** To become aware of through senses
*** To be resolved, can speak of, be sure of, understand
2. To know in Greek is ( epigin-o-sko)
*** To become fully acquainted with to ackknowledge
***Closing***
***In oreder to know somebody, we must have a personal and intimate relationship with that person. We have to study them, watch them, want to know them inside and out... We should want to be with them and cherish them and lift them up above ourselves... We have to spend quality time with them, quite, personal time, so that we can understand who they are!!!
