2:14 Works vs. faith. The two should exist and walk hand in hand. Faith is what leads us to believe and accept what Christ has done for us. Works are like the fruit that grows off the vine. John 15:5 talks about Jesus being the vine and we are the branches. Fruit does not grow because the branches do anything. The fruit grows because of the work the vine is doing. Works are the fruit of our faith. Our faith is what leads us down the road of life but our works is how we reach out to others as we go down that road. They follow down the identical path hand in hand in a life of genuine faith.
