In this verse, Jesus tells the disciples that he has appointed them to go and witness (bear fruit) to others. "..whatever you ask the Father in My Name, He may give it to you." by this, I believe it to be true that all of our prayers are answered as soon as they are prayed as long as our thoughts are pure and not of selfishness. God answers our prayers as soon as they are said, but it may be a while before we realize they are answered, if at all.
