Unauthorized Fire
Aaron's two oldest sons simply did something that was not in the instructions to do that way. They were not haughty or prideful. They didn't seem to do it in a way that says look at us, but God consumed them with fire and killed them because they didn't follow instructions properly. This is hard core. My pastor a few weeks back did a message on this, and brought out this point. Every time Aaron year when Aaron went into the holy of holy's he would be faced with the place where his sons were killed. The high priest bringing a sin offering for the people was faced with the reality that the same God who forgives also killed his two oldest sons. Tough stuff there.
