Love Jesus. The Scriptures frequently testify to God’s love. Our Heavenly Father is the God of love (2 Corinthians 13:11) and He “is love” (1 John 4:8, 16). As it is His nature to love, He initiates love (1 John 4:10). God loves the world (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4), His ancient people Israel (Deuteronomy 7:6-8; Jeremiah 31:3), and His true children (John 14:23). The assurance of God’s love is a comfort to us believers (Romans 8:37-39).
