Strengthen & Encourage Joshua
I came to this scripture and I stopped and reread it several times. God would not let Moses cross the Jordan, but he did allow him to go to the top of Pisgah and look west,north,south & east. Then he told Moses to "commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see." While this had to be hard for Moses to lead the Israelites for 40 years and then not be able to take them into their final destination. That's what sin does. It stops us from completing our goals. But more importantly God told Moses to encourage and strengthen Joshua. As Christians this is so important. We need to encourage and strengthen each other. Times are tough and we are in the last days. And times are going to get tougher. God spoke with such wisdom when Joshua probably needed a pep talk. That is what we need to do all the time with our fellow christians.
