I will not eat locusts
John the Baptist was a stud. He obviously had done some things that caught the attention of others. But he was always quick to duck out of the spotlight and point ot the One coming after Him. And then, to add to it that he wasn't even worthy to untie his sandals. The humility here is amazing. No entourage. No titel. No credentials. Nothing. Just total security in realizing who he was and what his job was- to get this place ready for Jesus. Don't see much of that these days. I don't mean to sound cynical. But there's just been a lot of pointing in the body of Christ- but tot he wrong person. We were meant to be worshipped and adored- we're here to point the way to Jesus, to get folks ready for His coming. We have the same job as Johnny B. But thank goodness I'm not required to eat locusts.
