So simple is the description of what the Early New Testament committed themselves to, but so debated is how today's generation of church should conduct itself to be in accordance with the pattern of the Early Church. The questions are:

1. Are these patterns what we should EXACTLY be following?

or

2. Are these patterns just guidelines for us to interpret in our setting and culture

or

3. None of the above?

I don't have an answer that I feel I can really tote as THE definitive position. Just about every church calls itself an Acts chapter 2 church, yet each of those "Acts 2" churches can look vastly different from each other...even comparing themselves to other churches and feeling some pride for being a "more accurate Acts 2 church."

My personal interpretation? I believe that Acts 2 was a demonstration of what happens when people are sincerely encountered by the life changing Word of God. There is something to be said about tradition and the example of the scriptures, but I believe that the overall message with Acts 2 is that people who become saved became people who were in relationship with one another.
