Its easy for us to remember that Jesus did not condemn this woman. In an earthly sense, she certainly deserved it. Caught in the very act is as guilty as it gets. But if we look at Jesus' actions towards both peoples, the actions are similar. Jesus, while he may have as some believe, written the sins of the Pharisees on the ground, NEVER openly condemned them either. The very actions that this group of people decided to take out on this woman were not reciprocated by Christ. He could hav easily have started to rattle off openly the sins of the Pharisees, yet He did so discreetly--still causing conviction, but not causing embarassment. I think as we try to emulate Christ, this is a great example to follow. When our sins come to light, we often want to expose our accuser. Jesus shows us the better path to follow.
