Faithful Life in a nutshell
If this isn't a mantra for faith-filled life - well, it is now. I was asked for some thoughts about what has helped my Christian growth for a sermon with focus on Roman 8 & 12 and 12:12 grabbed me.
Okay I have a one floor elevator ride to describe what a life with Christ has done for me - Romans 12:12. Bam! I am weak in my dropping of scripture verses in conversation, but this one's going on the wall of my office. It may become by email signature (replacing Luke 12:34).
NSRV "Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer."
Faith is knowing what is ahead is well worth any short-term affliction or pain. Patience in the challenges strengthens me to know that there things that I must face - we aren't called to be comfortable - in order to move closer to Christ. Prayer - asking for guidance, direction, wisdom and discernment - then listening for God's will for me provides the answers. Again, not necessarily the easy way or what I would have done on my own, but way in which God is leading me to serve His will.
