Psalm 6
1 O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger, nor discipline me in your wrath.2 Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing; heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.3 My soul also is greatly troubled. But you, O Lord--how long?
My re-wording: (I know that I can't do the word for word translation by scholars justice, but it is a helpful tool in meditating on the true words of the psalmist.)
God, don't lambast me when you see red, and don't correct me with vengeance. Be charitable to me, O King, my body is failing me; instead I need your mending, my bones are disturbed. My inner man is also disturbed. You are God, you don't take long!
