We were chosen by Him and appointed to bear fruit. It's not just the job of the evangelists, the outgoing, the people in ministry, the precious folks on mission fields... we were ALL appointed by God to bear fruit. And not just fruit- lasting fruit. We were all chosen to make disciples- to make genuine followers of Jesus Christ, not just converts to count towards our revival service totals. We must lead people in what it means to follow Jesus- allow them to count the cost and make life altering decisions instead of emotional altar responses. Not that there's anything wrong with altar calls...it just can't stop there. We mommies don't give birth to babies and then leave them on the side of the road to fend for themselves and figure out life. No way. That would be crazy. We take care of them, teach them and lead them as they grow into the people they should be. But yet, with new believers, we add them on our salvation tally and stop there. God, forgive us! Help us disciple others and truly lead them into relationship with You.
