And what I am reminded of today is that the Lord is my possession.

When I am tempted to point and stare at other people and the possessions they have, I need to know that the Lord is my possession.

The Levites were the priest of the day - the "ministers" so to say. As a minister myself, it is encouraging to be reminded that my life isn't about getting all the stuff I want, because I have the only thing of worth.

But then I got to thinking...

Aren't all believers in Christ "Priests" so to say in the theological understanding of what the "priesthood" is?

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

If this is true, then all believers in Christ should be encouraged that when their lives feel like they aren't getting the stuff they want/like/wish-they-had/would-like-to-have, that in the end, God's ultimate plan for them is to have their needs taken care of and to give them of himself.

Mark 8:35
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.

Deuteronomy 18:2
