Luke 7 surge ?'s
1. Chapter 6 had quite a focus on the poor -- as you enter into chapter 7 you see Jesus interacting with a centurion. Would you say that Jesus favors the poor? From what you have seen so far who does Jesus favor?
2. Explain the Centurion's faith? What makes it so significant?
3. Read the account of Jesus in Nain carefully. What do you notice Christ doing? What is there in this passage to marvel at? What about it stirs your affections for the man Jesus Christ? Does it bring things to mind that you want to do?
4. Why is Jesus answer to John's disciples so convincing? Is he alluding to Scripture that would point to what the Christ would be doing? If so what Scripture?
5. What is the meaning of verse 28?
6. Do verses 31-32 describe our generation? Play out what Jesus is saying about that generation. If you think it applies to today give some concrete examples.
7. I believe verses 36-50 give account to one of the most significant events in Luke in regards to understanding how people change. Spend a good deal of time there and make observations. Boil your observations down to four points. Then define the point of the encounter in one statement.
