peace, life, and healing: Fear of the Lord
Malachi 2:5, "My covenant with him [Levi] was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him as an object of reverence; so he revered Me and stood in awe of My name"
Peace and life cause one to fear the Lord. This seems like a paradox or contradiction. No, it's an antinomy. Immanuel Kant describes an antinomy as "the equally rational but contradictory results of applying to the universe of pure thought the categories or criteria of reason proper to the universe of sensible perception or experience (phenomena). Empirical reason cannot here play the role of establishing rational truths because it goes beyond possible experience and is applied to the sphere of that which transcends it." The blessing of peace and life bring a sturdy beginning to fearing the Lord.
Malachi 4:2, "But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in it's wings..."
'The sun of righteousness' is a beautiful and poetic way of saying, "God's glory!" Yes, God's healing does come from his glory. I pray right now that God's glory shines upon the abused women involved in sex traffiking. I believe that God's healing upon their lives will be great and magnificent. Lord, let me tell one that you will never allow her be shaken. Lord, prepare her to believe in your awesome deeds and the resurrection of your son, our dear Savior. You will heal her because you love the afflicted. Send me, Lord, I will tell her!
