Notes from our Sunday Sermon: 1. The woman was guilty of sin. 2. The religious leaders were desperate to save their religious institution. 3. Church is the result of salvation, not its cause. 4. The real issue is sin and what to do about it. 5. God is a just God; but he is also a loving God. 6. Jesus is the only one qualified to judge us. 7. Jesus calls the woman to repent so she can be declared not guilty on judgement day.
I am reminded by this that I am a sinner. This comes for me at a good time as I am preparing to minister in a prison ministry called Residents Encounter Christ. Those prisoners are no more a sinner than I am, and I need to allow God to humble me so that he can effectively use me.
