After talking about these evildoers who are trying to get him and about fearing nothing because the Lord is with him, David comes back with an absolutely beautiful passage in verse 4:

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. (ESV)

Wow, no wonder God called David a man after his own heart. How many of us have EVER asked for nothing more than to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord. He has such faith and confidence in God that he knows the only thing he will need is to dwell in the house of the Lord forever. I want to get to that place, where that is all I need and all I want.
