If John the Baptist was the greatest of all the prophets yet less than any of us then what can we learn from this? Jesus ushered in the the kingdom of heaven to within an arms length 'the kingdom of God is at hand'. The prophets performed all sorts of signs, miracles and healings, therefore the implication is that even the least in the kingdom of heaven should be able, as a minimum, to do these things also! Jesus himself said that we would do 'greater works'. It is by the Holy Spirit that we move into an ever more intimate relationship with our heavenly Father, then like Jesus we begin to do what the Father would have us do . .
