Our God is Close...but We Must Take Care
The God we serve is close to us...He hears us when we call to Him.
Yet, we have work to do as well...the passage teaches that we must take care of ourselves; that we must keep our souls diligently. We cannot forget the things we have seen God do in our lives. We must tell our children of them.
These two things go hand-in-hand. Our God is close and He hears us. And there are times when that won't seem true. And this is when we must "keep our souls" and remember God's history of working in our lives.
