What shall I DO that I may INHERIT eternal life?
Th rich young ruler's mistake, as ours often is, was that he thought that he had to DO something in order to INHERIT eternal life. Inheritances are not earned...they are received. You receive an inheritance by virtue of who you ARE rather than what you DO. This performance mindset afflicts many of us. Eternal life is something that we simply RECEIVE by virtue of being born-again as SONS of the one who has left a great inheritance - even eternal life.
