I have been fascinated by this verse for a long time. Does it address the often repeated idea of "you need to seek God first in everything you do"?

I take from this verse that no matter what, God has our days and our steps in His hands. Not one thing escapes Him. So where is my heart?

If my heart plans things that go along with what God has planned for me, then that's awesome. If my heart becomes set on something that is not, then it will be hard.

I feel it's saying, get your heart right and walk in His plan willingly because when you are walking out of His plans, it's going to be tough for you, not because God is punishing us but because we are trying to walk where He didn't want us to go.

This is just one nugget I took from this verse. It's a tiny verse, but it's got a lot there.
