Don't gloss over this section thinking about those crazy pagans and their idols. We do that too much, the silversmith is in all of us. We take our sin and we build and identity around it, soon enough we are dependant on it for our happiness, our purpose in life and our livelyhood. It's the things that if your friend or parent comes up to you and confronts you about your first reaction is to defend yourself. Much like the silversmiths chanted "Great is Artemis", we defend our sin. we say things like, "we'll that's just the way I am". It's this flawed mentality kind of like "Once an addict always an addict", it's simply not true, unless you want to dismiss the power of the Gospel to change people. Don't become a "sintrepenuer", allow the Holy Spirit to reveal your true identity, the one God created you for, don't settle for using some pitiful flaw as the basis for who you are.
