HELPING THE POOR AND NEEDY IS VERY ESSENTIAL IN OUR CHRISTIAN WALK WITH GOD. INFACT, IT EVEN HAS IN GOD DETERMININING WERE OUR ETERNAL HOME WILL BE: HEAVEN OR HELL. "When he finally arrives, blazing in beauty and all his angels with him, the Son of Man will take his place on his glorious throne. Then all the nations will be arranged before him and he will sort the people out, much as a shepherd sorts out sheep and goats, putting sheep to his right and goats to his left.
"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what's coming to you in this kingdom. It's been ready for you since the world's foundation. And here's why:

I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.'
"Then those 'sheep' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.'
"Then he will turn to the 'goats,' the ones on his left, and say, 'Get out, worthless goats! You're good for nothing but the fires of hell. And why? Because—

I was hungry and you gave me no meal,
I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
I was homeless and you gave me no bed,
I was shivering and you gave me no clothes,
Sick and in prison, and you never visited.'
"Then those 'goats' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or homeless or shivering or sick or in prison and didn't help?'
"He will answer them, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you failed to do one of these things to someone who was being overlooked or ignored, that was me—you failed to do it to me.'
"Then those 'goats' will be herded to their eternal doom, but the 'sheep' to their eternal reward" (MATTHEW 25:31-46) (MSG).
ASIDE FROM THE 10 PLUS PERCENTAGE OF MONEY YOU GIVE TO THE CHURCH, THERE ALSO SHOULD BE A SET PERCENTAGE OF MONEY YOU GIVE TOWARD CHARITY. (IN MY OPINION A GREAT CHARITY TO GIVE TO WOULD BE THE INDEPENDENT CHURCH IN INDIA.) AND THERE ARE MANY OTHER PROVERBS IN THE BIBLE THAT DEFEND THE POOR. EVEN THE PROPHET ISAIAH SAID THAT, “Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.” ISAIH 1:17 . SOLOMON SAID, “Those who oppress the poor insult their Maker, but helping the poor honors him.” PROVERBS 14:31. MANY TIMES POOR PEOPLE ARE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AND SUFFER REJECTION BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT WEALTHY, BUT JESUS SAID, “the Good News is being preached to the poor.” MATTHEW 11:5 . TYPICALLY, POOR DON’T HAVE ANY FRIENDS JUST BECAUSE OF THEIR FINIANCAL STATUS. “Wealth makes many “friends”; poverty drives them all away” PROVERBS 19:4. NOW I DON’T DEFEND PEOPLES CHOICES TO FALL CAPTIVE INTO POVERTY BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS THAT, “Despite their desires, the lazy will come to ruin, for their hands refuse to work” (PROVERBS 21:25). AND, “I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one with no common sense. I saw that it was overgrown with nettles. It was covered with weeds, and its walls were broken down. Then, as I looked and thought about it, I learned this lesson: A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber” PROVERBS 24:30-34. BUT I AM SAYING THAT THE RICH PEOPLE SHOULD GIVE TO THE POOR. BUT IF YOU DON’T HELP OUT THE POOR AND NEEDY, THEN THIS IS WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU:
“Look here, you rich people: Weep and groan with anguish because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you. Your wealth is rotting away, and your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags. Your gold and silver have become worthless. The very wealth you were counting on will eat away your flesh like fire. This treasure you have accumulated will stand as evidence against you on the Day of Judgment. For listen! Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. The wages you held back cry out against you. The cries of those who harvest your fields have reached the ears of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. You have spent your years on earth in luxury, satisfying your every desire. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter. You have condemned and killed innocent people, who do not resist you” (JAMES 1:1-6).
